Bestia’s story

5 years and how we got here.

Bestia opened its doors in 2015. Located in the heart of Budapest, right near the stunning St. Stephen’s Basilica, our initial aim was to create a great place in the downtown that we could be proud of and which would only get better with age. 

For Bestia to be as good as it is now it took thousands of hours of research, travel, experiences, learning, and hard work. It’s all been worth it, to ensure that Bestia only gets better and better.

About five or six years ago, the owners, Rozina Wossala, György Lefkovits and Tamás Sztanó, started dreaming and they were so successful in making their dream a reality that Bestia is what it is today. 

Rozina believes that a restaurant has to be flexible so that guests’ evolving needs can play a part in its creation. Over the years, Bestia has become a laid-back, quality downtown restaurant where you can get excellent food and beverages.

Bestia is a place for one and all. Whether it’s a family lunch or business dinner, a regular brunch spot after a big night out, or a place to pop in for a quick weekday lunch. 

Bestia is a melting pot in the heart of the city.

We must also mention Zoltán Pryma, who’s been a core part of the Bestia team from the start. As the manager, he is detail-oriented, and with his experience and ideas he plays a key role in ensuring Bestia remains a quality favorite.
